Volvo are recalling their SUVs in America and Canada so hopefully European owners should be getting the call soon.
Volvo began investigating a problem after receiving reports of buckle failures back in August. Their research confirmed there was a risk with the front passenger seat belt buckle stud effecting the S60, S90, V60, XC60 and XC90 made from 16th February 2015, to 22nd August 2016.
The possible danger was established with the front buckle stud, they found it could work its way loose causing the bracket to separate from the buckle. This will affect the ability of the seat belt to hold a passenger in a crash.
American Volvo dealers are starting the recall from 12th December 2017 replacing the buckle if needed with no cost to owners.
