Record participation was reached in the 5th edition of the Les Comes 4×4 Festival reaching 900 subscribers, the limit was the number set by the organisation for the whole weekend. Up to 10.000 people did not want to miss this huge offroad motorsport event, which has become a benchmark to all 4×4 lovers from across Europe. The sun and warm weather throughout weekend contributed to the event’s success as the Festival celebrated its 5-year.
The 4×4 vehicles that came to Les Comes (Súria, Catalonia, Spain) this weekend enjoyed 70 km of tracks with a range of difficulty levels and a busy agenda full of activities related to the different 4×4 disciplines. It is important to highlight the large increase of participants from all the Spain and the rest of Europe, which has been tripled from previous editions.
At the Dakar exhibition, one of the most followed activities, the public enjoyed one of the Dakar 2016 stars, the IVECO truck winner of 2016 driven by Gerard De Rooy and Moi Torrallardona. Pep Vila and Jordi Juvanteny with their trucks and Xavi Foj and Rubén Gracia with their cars completed the Dakar exhibition and delighted all spectators. Afterwards, the drivers shared their Dakar experiences in a public conference with other Dakar drivers like Albert Llovera and Lucas Cruz.
The Trial 4×4 extreme and Supertrack contestants amazed the visitors with their 4×4 cars capacity to overcome the different obstacles and extreme course designed by the organisation.
The other successful activities of the weekend were the RC-Crawler exhibition, the 4×4 classic cars expo, the BFGoodrich tires course and the 4×4 tour that made the visitors to discover the different places and tracks enjoyed by all the participants at Les Comes.
The commercial fair assembled thousands of visitors that enjoyed the latest changes of more than 50 expositors attending the event. The number of companies attending the event has grown substantially compared to the last editions. The organisation had to extend the commercial zone to make sure everyone had space.
The adventure activities and the children’s area gave the family touch to the event. These areas, in addition to the playroom, allowed the kids to also enjoy the weekend.
The event has already become one of the most important in Europe both by number of activities and for participation, this year has broken all records of previous editions.
