German built 6×6 Sprinter Expedition Camper, by Bocklet

German vehicle conversion specialist have gone to town on the latest 4×4 Mercedes 6x6-camper-expeditionSprinter chassis cab and revealed a stretched 6×6 adventure camper christened the Dakar Brocklet 750.
At 7.550 (hence the name) meters long the Sprinter is almost into the truck size category and the price reflects that too at a staggering €255,000 or a shade under £189,000, a nice family home springs to mind !
Brocklet have been in the industry of camper conversions for many years having produced some stunning units for self sustaining requirements on world wide expeditions, their range is pretty extensive based on van chassis’ right up to large truck platform based vehicles
But for those with disposable cash and the adventure spirit, this top end adventure dakar-750-6x6wagon may be right up your street, or track if we are to be correct. The Dakar 750 has the Mercedes 3ltr V6 engine with 190 bhp with a five speed auto box fitted. The chassis is stretched and strengthened by Oberaigner of Austria who add a third axle, switchable traction system and a crawler gear of 2.85 : 1 to help you out of those sticky moments. The body is fully insulated for extremes of hot and cold and you can add your own specs to the build such as solar panels air conditioning, roof racks etc.

The vehicle is based around two people traveling long term but can accommodate brocklet -6x6two guest with the living area converting to a double bed.
The main sleeping area is elevated due to underside storage accessed both internally and externally. The kitchen area is fully equipped with freezer, fridge, microwave, hob and double sink. Shower, toilet and washbasin fit snugly into the compact bathroom adjacent to the wardrobe and cab walkthrough.
Storage not an issue, as it is everywhere on the vehicle, there is even a over cab weather proof roof box, although access seems a little iffy…
Our Verdict;6x6-camper-adventure-truck
With such a large rear overhang, a turning circle of 19.5 meters, it does not strike us as the most agile of adventure campers.
Add the price tag to that and you have to consider the other options out there. You could buy yourself a used but tried and tested full blown truck with all the accessories installed and still have a change from it.
