Revealed at the Hannover Motor Show in Germany, this capable Rescue Truck caused a stir with 4×4 fans. Based on the Nissan Navara the EnGuard concept is one of the coolest, most cutting-edge emergency vehicles we’ve seen in a long time in the 4×4 segment. Included are portable battery packs recharged by the truck’s diesel engine, the 2-kilowatt units have seven internal battery modules and have seven outlets that are designed to power heavy machinery in confined places, like caves, or where petrol powered tools could prove too cumbersome or hazardous due to fumes.
The EnGuard isn’t just a charge port though, with fiberglass pull-out trays that hold radios, an axe, ropes and other hand held rescue equipment. There are also oxygen tanks, life jackets, and of course, there’s the drone, a DJI Phantom 4, that can fly to nearly 20,000 feet and relay images that are displayed on a 20.5-inch HD screen built into the truck.
The truck is raised two inches, runs on 16 inch neon green wheels beneath custom flared arches that match the green highlighted side steps. Up top are fitted LED front and rear roof lights, with a high powered winch tucked away upfront. Power comes from a 2.3ltr twin-turbo diesel making 187 horsepower.
Nissan is using the Navara EnGuard concept to highlight its Intelligent Mobility vision, which is a company goal to develop vehicles with lower emissions and traffic fatalities.
