This G 500 was listed as a concept car not long ago, but it has now been given the green light to start production. Dubbed the G500 4×4 Squared, it debut was earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 Squared has a four litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 422 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.. The SUV is also equipped with portal axles, 22-inch wheels and 37-inch tires, not to mention 18 inches of ground clearance.
Approach angle is 52 degrees and departure angles is 54 degrees, with a break-over angle of 47 degrees. The G500 4×4 Squared does not just drive over some things, it can drive over pretty much anything.
Permanent all-wheel-drive and three differentials that are lockable while on the move really show how off-road capable this luxury SUV really is. New buyers will know that they will be able to look nice out on the town and still have a vehicle that can take into the dirt.
Cost is given to be around the £ 257, 500 mark.
Would you really pay out this kind of money just to bash and scratch it? Well there must be some good folk out there willing to do just that or it would remain a concept vehicle for good.
